Spiritual improvement
Christian tradition and Sacred Scripture have long used the term Spiritual counsel. People followed Jesus and sought his counsel because they felt the presence of His Spirit of Truth.
The monastic tradition has long held high the essential need for spiritual counsel. Spiritual Advisors have been a part of every seminary and convent formation process.
Priests, Rabbis, and Ministers have offered counsel to those they serve for centuries. All of these examples simply describe a group of people to reach spiritual maturity through the help of those called by God to offer it.
